hi there.
the good ol’ third-person bio: alicia wright was born and raised in appalachia and studied english and creative writing at bowling green state university and marietta college in ohio. she runs pictura journal and has worked for mid-american review and rabble lit. recent work has appeared in new feathers anthology, the inflectionist review, wildscape. literary journal, sontag mag, thimble, and elsewhere. other work is forthcoming in does it have pockets, antiphony journal, and red branch review. she is the recipient of an oak ledge residency at hindman settlement school in eastern kentucky and her first collection is set for release by pulley press in 2026. she currently lives in the west virginia foothills.
really, though: I live in the woods, edit a lit mag, run an adult literacy program, and work in office admin because I need money and health insurance. I’m a recovering freelance editor and every once in a while I manage to write a poem.
